This document may be referenced where OPC communication issues persist during intial setup Client/Server computers running Windows XP or 2003. The same concepts are also relevant to Windows 7 and 2008 platforms.
In summary, these procedures describe how to disable advanced security settings in order to allow OPC communications.
Upon completion of this procedure, the computer's DCOM permissions will accept all incoming OPC connections. Prior to following this procedure, it is recommended to backup the current DCOM configuration.
Lastly, upon successfully establishing OPC communications, it is recommended to tighten security settings again.
